The Kirkwood Arts Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that promotes the appreciation of, participation in and development of the arts in Kirkwood by supporting the Kirkwood Arts Commission.
Who we are
Arts Foundation Board members are residents of Kirkwood and the greater St. Louis area who have volunteered their time to raise money in support of the Kirkwood Arts Commission's programming because we believe that the arts enliven the soul and enrich our lives.Arts Foundation Board Members: Art McDonnell (President), Joe Walsh (Vice President), Mark Luetzow (Treasurer), Wallace Ward (Secretary), Mark Braun, Agnes Garino, Erika Whittaker, Christy Beckmann, Ad Hoc Member Zoe Perkins (Chair of the Kirkwood Arts Commission).
What We Do
The Kirkwood Arts Foundation exists as a primary fundraising arm of the Kirkwood Arts Commission and has enabled the Commission to put on the following arts programs in Kirkwood:GALLERY PROGRAM AT THE KIRKWOOD PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - The Gallery Program will host three individual exhibitions in 2022, each comprising works from three different artists. The inaugural exhibition will open in mid-March and will be on display for 3-4 months. All exhibitions will have an opening reception celebrating the artists and their work.MAKING MUSIC CONCERT SERIES - The Making Music Concert Series happens every summer in Kirkwood Park. Concerts are held in the Lions' Amphitheatre, at 7:30 p.m. on selected Saturdays in the Summer months. Hosted by the Kirkwood Arts Commission and Kirkwood Parks & Recreation, with additional generous support from the Kirkwood Arts Foundation, the Willard Clifford Gaylord Foundation, and the Webster-Kirkwood Times. Concerts are free of charge.SCULPTURE ON THE MOVE - This program, conducted in partnership with the City of Kirkwood and Creative Communities Alliance, supports public art installations in the City of Kirkwood on a rotating schedule.PERFORMING ARTS CENTER MURAL PROJECT - The KPAC mural project features original art by students in the Kirkwood School District and St. Louis Community College-Meramec. Located near the performing arts center, the murals are a celebration of the home of performing arts in Kirkwood. Murals are now on display just north of the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center behind the Kirkwood post office.
